Athens Classic Marathon

Athens Classic Marathon 2010.
The 2010 Athens Marathon on Oct 31, 2010 marks the 2500 year anniversary of the Legend of Marathon. It was in 490BC that a messenger named Pheidippides ran from Marathon to Athens to announce the victory of Battle of Marathon when Athenian Soldiers destroyed a huge force of invading Persians. It was from this that the Marathon was born. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for any marathon runner.
The 2010 marathon will be run along the original course from Marathon to Athens. The organizers are preparing to make this a very special occasion. A turn out of up to 20,000 runners is expected. Scheduled during this time is AIMS 18TH World Congress October 28, 29, 30, Athens Classic Marathon Expo Festival 29, 30 October 29, 30 ,Opening Ceremony & Marathon Flame Lighting Ceremony October 30, Athens Classic Marathon Race & 5, 10K Road Races Sunday October 31

Routeburn Classic New Zealand

One of my favorite running experiences is the Routeburn Classic in May. It takes place on the World Renowned 38 KM Routeburn Track located near Queenstown New Zealand.  It some of the most amazing scenery.
